Your oasis of relaxation overlooking the island of Capri
THE VILLAGE OF THE ANNUNZIATA
Located in the hilly area of Massa Lubrense, the village of Santa Maria dell'Annunziata is an area rich in historical memories.
Once the historic center of Massa, the Annunziata consists of a handful of houses with typical vaulted roofs and stands about 200 meters above sea level, perched between the Aragonese Castle and the ancient Cathedral.
In the little square of the small village, you will find the Church of the Annunziata, which was already a cathedral until the mid-15th century. In front of the church you can admire the famous Turbolo Tower built in the 17th century.
Below the Tower there is one of the most panoramic points of Massa Lubrense. A small garden from which you can admire the entire Gulf of Naples with its wonderful islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida, losing yourself in an unreal silence that envelops you as your gaze runs over the waves.
A few steps from the viewpoint is the beautiful Villa Murat, from which Joachim Murat, cousin of Napoleon Bonaparte and viceroy of Naples, directed the siege and reconquest of the island of Capri and in whose rooms the surrender of the English occupants was signed.
